En Français

Accounting for 92% of Ghanaian businesses, and contributing 70% of Ghana’s GDP, SMEs are vital to Ghana’s economic future. As the government of Ghana and the private sector work to drive economic growth, the importance of technology and the internet to SMEs cannot be underestimated.

The internet enables economic opportunity and has already fostered significant growth for economies around the world. According to a recent study by McKinsey, SMEs which heavily use web technologies, grow and export twice as much as others.

That’s why we’re thrilled to announce today the launch of Africa, Get Your Business Online, an initiative by Google to help drive Ghana’s economic success by enabling SMEs to tap into the online marketplace and make the most of the opportunities offered by the Internet. With this free and easy to use tool, SMEs can build a website, get listed on Google Maps and access a dashboard that provides valuable information such as the number of visitors to your site and which country the visitor originates from. Our launch partners for this exciting initiative include Zenith Bank Ghana, Ghana Tourism Authority, BusyInternet, Vodafone and IPMC.

As of today, SMEs across Ghana no longer need to struggle with the various challenges of getting online. With Africa, Get Your Business Online, you get a:
