Before the g|uganda 2.0 and g|kenya 2.0 events this September, lots of people asked, “what does 2.0 really mean?” To us, it means more hands-on content, deeper insights, more actionable training, and more Google magic. Over 1,500 developers and businesses joined us in Kampala and Nairobi. Here's what a few of them had to say:

“The wide range of speakers who were well versed, the demos were awesome, I finally got to use so many Google tools that I had no idea existed to improve the quality of my work and serve my customers better.”
“The red cupcakes were awesome.”

“I loved the music after lunch!!! That was awesome!!! Then the giveaways were exciting as always. Then I enjoyed the 10 best practices for online visibility... and the food!!! And the socializing and ... well, just about the whole day went awesome!!”
“This guy just created an Android app in 10 minutes, you are my hero!”

“The energy and commitment by the 'Googlers' to what Google has to offer, translated brilliantly into impact-FULL sessions. In summary, the day was simply brilliant."

In all, the business day across Uganda and Kenya saw 650 attendees, who attended 70 presentations, panels and workshops and witnessed two exciting announcements: First, that we’re launching an initiative to bring more small businesses to the web called “Getting Kenyan Businesses Online.” Secondly, we were thrilled to announce the winners of the Android Developer Challenge, even bringing our Kenyan winners on stage to demo their own applications.

The fun isn’t over yet, however! November 2-3 *we travel south to Johannesburg and then on to Luanda, Angola from November 8-9. Register today for g|South Africa and g|Angola.

.

(*Update: The dates for g|South Africa have changed from November 2-3 to November 3-4.)
