The G-Day Journey from Senegal to Ghana & Nigeria

Posted on 05:06 by Unknown
En Français

We keep working hard on making the Internet relevant and useful for everyone in Africa, and it's great to see that we're not alone in our quest - hundreds of entrepreneurs and developers keep joining us for our G-Days, the itinerant two-day conference dedicated to Google technologies that make ideas, knowledge and people come together across Africa.

In late February we made our biggest splash in Senegal yet. Over 1,000 developers, techies, students and business gathered at UCAD 2 - Université de Dakar for our second G-Senegal.

We also had a large number of reporters and news portal webmasters attend G-Senegal -- whilst some of them came to write stories about the event, many came for training workshops themselves, to learn more about how Google’s free products and services can help them in their day-to-day lives as journalists.

We're particularly happy to have had the opportunity to introduce for the first time quite a few new topics for the francophone region of Sub-Saharian Africa, such as tips and tricks to improve the quality of websites using Webmaster Tools, how to make the most of HTML5, or becoming a pro in using Google solutions for online advertising and enterprise applications.

Because of the high levels of response to, and success of our G-days, we are continuing down the G-Africa road with upcoming events in Ghana and Nigeria. G-Ghana and G-Nigeria, held on April 28-29th and May 3rd-4th respectively, will feature a menu of mobile, web, business and developer topics for you to select the right topics to further your learning. We will have hands on demo pods, and advanced materials to get your product or venture to the next level. If you’re interested in joining, please check out G-Ghana or G-Nigeria sites and register today!
