What does Google have lined up for Africa in 2011? We'll talk about that at G-Senegal in Dakar in February.

For Google Africa, 2010 was an intense year. We created new tools for African users with Baraza (to find answers to your questions and share what you know) and Google Maps. We danced in flashmobs to celebrate the launch of Google Trader in Ghana, a product for mobile ads. We opened access to GMail chat via SMS to millions of mobile users. We also learned to speak Wolof, Amharic, Swahili and many other African languages in Search, Gmail and more.

Among the most rewarding activities of the year were those which gave us the opportunity to meet African developers and entrepreneurs during the G-Africa events. From Lagos in February to Cape Town in November as well as Accra, Kampala and Nairobi, we assessed overall Internet trends in Sub-Saharan Africa, presented Google technologies, and held rich discussions with entrepreneurs and industry experts.

And guess what? 2011 promises even more. If you want to know more about what we’re preparing for this coming year, your first appointment will be at our G-Senegal event in Dakar on 21 and 22 February 2011.

Are you a developer who wants to discover innovative tools and go beyond what you already know about Google technologies? On the first day of G-Senegal, we’ll be offering practical content that will enable you in a single day to create a web application and its mobile version. Register here!

Are you an entrepreneur, marketer or business leader, with your own small business or offering services to SMEs? In that case, register for the second day of G-Senegal and we’ll explore together how to make innovative technologies to serve your business needs and practices.

As places are limited, we’ll try to invite those of you who are best placed to take full advantage of the workshops.

See you soon for a bit of G-Teranga!
